Pink Garmin Nuvi GPS? You’ve got to be kidding!

Garmin has had the same idea about color as Henry Ford. Mr. Ford said you could get your Model T painted in any color as long as it was black. Garmin has followed Mr. Ford’s color philosophy on making most of its GPS black.

However, Garmin decided that ladies might like a pink Nuvi and created a limited edition of some of the models in pink. You can even get a pink carrying case to match.

Garmin made the Nuvi 200 and Nuvi 250 in pink. These units are discontinued, but you can still find some of them.

More recently, Garmin made a Nuvi 205 in pink. The 205 is the entry level unit in the Nuvi line. It does not speak street names which is important for your safety. If the GPS does not tell you the name of the street where you are to turn, you have to read the street name on the display. Taking your eyes off the road is quite dangerous.

There are numerous pink accessories for your pink Nuvi. There are pink cases of every size and description.

Keep in mind that you pay a premium for a pink Garmin Nuvi. As an example, a pink Nuvi 205 lists for $ 349.99 while the standard black Nuvi 205 lists for $ 104.07. The pink Nuvi 250 lists for $ 471.99 while the black Nuvi 250 sells for $ 99.99 (as of the date this article was written).

My wife likes the concept of the Pink Nuvis.  She pointed out to me that they are much easier to find in a purse.  Many purses are lined in dark colors and a black GPS is hard to find when digging around in the bottom of your purse.  The pink model stands out and is easy to find.

Also, the “cool factor” must be considered between a standard black GPS and a cool pink one.

For more information about pink Nuvi models and pink accessories and where you can buy them, read the resource information at the end of this article.
